Films For Unheard Stories That Matter.

A nonprofit film studio creating documentaries for organizations and individuals who couldn’t otherwise afford them.

We tell the stories through cinematic, high-quality films.

Meet the Founders:

We’re Shane and Christin, a husband-and-wife filmmaking team based in Southern California. Liora grew out of a simple conviction: money shouldn’t be the reason a meaningful story goes untold.

In our twenties, we thought we’d become missionaries, not filmmakers, and traveled to places like China, Cambodia, and Honduras. The people we met there changed our lives.

Since then, we’ve been driven to bring unheard stories into the light — stories that spark hope and inspire change.

Our Vision:

Our dream is a world where powerful stories are not left untold because of cost — where stories of hope and impact are brought into the light.

We believe storytelling has the power to move hearts and help change the world.

Our Mission:

Liora creates cinematic documentaries for world changing organizations and individuals whose stories might otherwise go unseen.

Through film, we amplify their work so their reach can grow and their impact can go further.

We believe money should not be the reason a meaningful story goes untold.

How it Works

  • Liora is a donor-supported film studio. Our films are funded primarily through donor support, along with a meaningful contribution from the featured organization.

  • This allows us to work with organizations and individuals who couldn’t otherwise afford professional film production.

The Problem

Many impactful organizations and individuals can’t afford quality storytelling due to funding.

At the same time, most professional filmmakers can’t afford to work for free.

Liora exists to bridge that gap—removing financial barriers so powerful stories get told.

The Solution

  • A shared-cost model: Donor-funded, with shared investment from featured partners

The result? Documentaries that amplify under-resourced, world-changing voices — stories that might otherwise go unseen.

What does a Documentary Cost?

Professional documentary films range widely in budget depending on scope.

• Small independent films: $30,000–$150,000
• Festival-level independent documentaries: $100,000–$300,000
• Large-scale productions: $700,000+

Where Is Your

Support Going?

Your generosity fuels the full life of each film — from early research to final release.

Documentary filmmaking includes:

• Research and story development
• Professional crew and cinematic equipment
• Travel and on-location production
• 200–500+ hours of editing
• Color grading and sound design
• Music licensing
• Insurance and legal protection
• Impact campaigns that extend the film’s reach

In addition, donor support sustains the ongoing work required to develop projects, fundraise responsibly, and lead each film with care and integrity.

A Future Project:

We’re currently working on our first documentary, telling the story of a ministry in Pakistan serving vulnerable communities that are often overlooked.

It’s a place and a story most of us will never see firsthand—but the people and work being done is and important and changing lives.

This is exactly the kind of film Liora exists to make. And it’s the kind of story that might never be told without donor support.

*Because of the sensitive nature of the work being documented, this film will be shared privately with supporters and partners rather than released publicly.

We believe storytelling has the power to create meaningful change in the world.

Our vision is a world where those stories aren’t limited by money.
